On April 22, 2013, six real estate students presented at the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) University Challenge at the Mall of America. They were given the charge of coming up with a development to place on a lot in downtown Minneapolis. The same assignment was given to real estate students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Northern Iowa, University of St. Thomas, and Marquette University. The students presented their work to real estate professionals who are members of the NAIOP. The SCSU team proposed a mixed use facility that included retail space, office space, and apartments.

The following students participated in the event (from left to right in the photo below): Nicole Carrison, Linda Stroschein, Celena Johnson, Asha Altermatt, Joey Popp, and Alex Sheaffer.
