Loan exit counseling assists you in understanding your loan repayment terms, options, and responsibilities. If you borrowed federal loans (Perkins, subsidized Stafford/Direct, or unsubsidized Stafford/Direct) or received a federal TEACH Grant while attending St. Cloud State University, federal regulations require that you complete loan exit counseling once you graduate, withdraw, or drop below a half-time (6 credits) enrollment level or in the case of the TEACH Grant once you leave school or are no longer eligible for the TEACH Grant.
Federal Direct Loan exit counseling may be completed online at NSLDS Student Access and takes approximately 25 minutes. For specific questions concerning your federal Direct Loan, please contact your loan servicer. This information is available through the National Student Loan Data Service (NSLDS).
Perkins Loan online exit counseling instructions will be mailed to your address that you have on file with the University. For specific questions concerning your federal Perkins Loan, please contact the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities Student Loan Service Center, Wells Fargo Place, 30 Seventh St. E., Suite #350, St. Paul, MN 55101-7804, (651) 917-4700 or via email at loans@csu.mnscu.edu.
Federal TEACH Grant online exit counseling may be completed online at NSLDS Student Access and takes approximately 20 minutes. You will need your federal Personal Identification Number (PIN), the same PIN you used to sign your FAFSA.
