Grants
National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (SMART)
The federal SMART Grant is awarded to students who meet the following criteria:
- U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizen.
- Pell Grant eligible for the current academic year.
- Junior or senior undergraduate.
- Admitted to a major in one of several areas related to science, mathematics or foreign language, (defined by US Department of Education).
- 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Enrolled at least 12 credits or more by the end of the free drop/add period to receive the full-time award. Students enrolled in 6-11 credits may receive a reduced award amount.
- Enrolled in at least one course per term that is required for the SMART Grant-eligible major.
