Minnesota Achieve Scholarship Program
Minnesota high school graduates who complete any one of four sets of courses defined as rigorous may be eligible to receive a scholarship to help pay for college at a public or private university or college. Complete guidelines may be found at https://www.ohe.state.mn.us/ssl/MAS/App.cfm.

To be eligible*, all students must:

  • Graduate from a Minnesota high school January 1, 2008 or later*
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Meet the definition of a Minnesota resident used for state financial aid purposes
  • Complete a FAFSA for the financial aid year
  • Enroll at an eligible Minnesota institution
  • Apply for the scholarship no later than 30 days after the term starts in order to receive funds in that term
  • Complete one of the four sets of rigorous programs of study while in high school or in a home-school setting

*If you meet the above criteria and graduated from a Minnesota high school after January 1, 2009, you must also:

  • Enroll full time (15 credits) in an eligible public or private postsecondary institution in Minnesota within the first academic year immediately following high school graduation
  • Be eligible to receive either a Federal Pell Grant or Minnesota State Grant
  • Complete one of four sets of rigorous programs of study while in high school with an unweighted grade point average of 2.5 or better.

*If you meet the above criteria and graduated from a Minnesota high school January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008 you must also:

  • Have a family adjusted gross income (AGI) of less than $75,000 reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the academic year during which the scholarship is used
  • Be enrolled for at least 3 credits in an eligible institution
  • Take and receive at least a grade of "C" in each of the courses, unless otherwise stated, in one of four rigorous programs of high school study
  • Successfully complete the first term of college enrollment in order to receive the second $600 installment of the Achieve.

Complete applications must be submitted to the Minnesota Office of Higher Education along with an official high school transcript. Do not submit your application to the school.
