Understanding Your Students Award Letter

Announcements - Forms - Entrance Loan Counseling - Frequently Asked Questions - Contact Us

After we have completed processing your student's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the SCSU Application for Financial Aid, he or she will receive an Official Award Letter from our office outlining your financial aid eligibility. Included with the letter, will be an information booklet, and various pieces of information depending on what types of financial aid for which your student qualifies .

When reviewing your student's award letter, we encourage you to do so WITH your student. Often times, parents try to be helpful by filling out forms and finding the answers to questions, and in turn, students are not aware of how much financial aid they are receiving or how much loan debt they have incurred.

The links below correspond to each page of the Official Award Letter. After you click on the page, a graphic of the page will appear and lead you through descriptions of each section of that page of the award letter. Just highlight the section you have a question about, and you will find the answer!

If you still have further questions after reviewing this information, and the award packet, please contact our office.
