Scholarship Opportunity - Share your story of a personal finance situation

Have you encountered a personal finance situation that you think others could learn from? Share your story with and you could win a scholarship up to $1,500!

Submit an essay that describes the situation, problem, or decision, how you worked through the process and what lesson(s) you learned. 


  • 1 grand prize winner - $1,500 scholarship 
  • 1 second place winner - $750 scholarship 
  • 4 runners up - $250 scholarships

Eligibility: You must be:

  • A legal resident of the 50 United States or District of Columbia; 
  • At least 18 years of age; 
  • Currently enrolled in a not-for-profit accredited college or university; and 
  • Enrolled in CashCourse (setting up an account is free and easy). 

Deadline: November 15, 2014 

CashCourse, a free online financial literacy tool available to SCSU students, offers many resources to help with budgeting, paying for school, and general money management.  CashCourse is independently funded by the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE).
