If
you are an eligible non-citizen, you are eligible to apply for federal
and state financial aid and therefore should refer to the Newly
Admitted or Current Student
sections of our website.
Generally, you are an eligible non-citizen if you are:
- a U.S. permanent resident and you have an Alien Registration
Receipt Card (I-551);
- a conditional permanent resident (I-551C);
- an other eligible non-citizen with an Arrival-Departure Record
(I-94) from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service showing
any one of the following designations: "Refugee," "Asylum
Granted," "Indefinite Parole," "Humanitarian
Parole," or "Cuban-Haitian Entrant."
If you are in or will be in the U.S. on only an F1 or F2 student
visa, or only a J1 or J2 exchange visitor visa, or a G series visa,
you are not eligible for federal student aid. However, you may qualify
for other forms of assistance.
St. Cloud State University offers a unique opportunity
for international students. Committed to quality education and international
vision, the university provides qualified international students
with the Academic and Cultural Sharing Scholarship that entitles
the student to pay resident tuition, currently a savings of over
$5,061 per year for undergraduate students and $2,482 per year for
graduate students. Few public universities offer such a financial
and cultural bonus to qualified international students who might
otherwise not be able to afford a U.S. education. As you participate
in the cross-cultural exchange activities, you will have the opportunity
to interact with U.S. citizens, get a quality education at a good
price, and educate people about your country.
NOTE: The Academic and
Cultural Sharing Scholarship opportunity is not available to
Masters
of Business Administration
(MBA) graduate
students since all MBA students, residents, non-resident, and international,
pay the same market rate.
If you have any questions regarding the Academic
and Cultural Sharing Scholarship, please contact International
Students and Scholar Services, at isss@stcloudstate.edu.
The St. Cloud State University Scholarship Search database
is designed to assist you in the process of identifying other possible
scholarship opportunities at SCSU. You may search for scholarships based on major, GPA, and class level.
An additional scholarship search option is available at http://www.usastudyguide.com/Financial_aid.htm through the USA Study Guide. Please note that SCSU and the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid do not endorse this scholarship resource. It is only provided as an alternative resource. As with any scholarship search, never pay a fee for the scholarship searches as it could be a scam.
