ST. CLOUD STATE
UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE OPENS THEIR FALL SEASON WITH A PRODUCTION OF Ghost Sonata
Ghosts, vampires and mummies
serve as dark metaphors for a decaying humanity in August Strindberg’s 1907
exploration of familial guilt and social retribution. One of Strindberg’s most
challenging pieces, The Ghost Sonata
heralded the 20th Century theatrical avant-garde movement with its
free intermingling of dream with reality and radical transformations of time
This production will be
performed promenade style, with the audience moving through various locations
and configurations on and around the stage. Aspects of object theatre and
puppet theatre will also be explored.
Portions of this production will
not be wheelchair accessible. For wheelchair accommodations and other ADA
concerts, please contact us prior to the performance at (320) 308-3229. Seating
will be limited. There will be no late seating.
