|Description:||Fine Arts. Minneapolis-based screenwriter/director Nicole Brending received her MFA in Film from Columbia University and is a three-time recipient of the Jerome Foundation Media Artist Grant Program, most currently for her microbudget feature "Dollhouse," slated to shoot this winter. Her short films have screened at over 50 festivals internationally, garnering such awards as thePrix de Varti at Ann Arbor, Best Short at Hamburg and Q Cinema, as well as a Student Emmy from the Academy of Telelvision Arts and Sciences. Her feature screenplay PRESERVATION received the McKnight Fellowship, the Ezra Litwak Award for Distinction in Screenwriting and was the only American project selected for the 2011 Berlinale Co-Production Market. Beech Hill Films and Toy Closet Films are producing. As a screenwriter, she has four television projects in development and two additional features with variouscompanies. She is represented by Dan Halsted at Manage-Ment and ChrisTill at CAA.
The event will feature a series of shorts followed by a discussion with Brending.
