| Description: | Conferences & Workshops. Thinking, Fast and Slow In the highly anticipated Thinking, Fast and Slow, Kahneman takes us on a groundbreaking tour of the mind and explains the two systems that drive the way we think. System 1 is fast, intuitive, and emotional; System 2 is slower, more deliberative, and more logical. This book talk will be offered in two sessions, on March 21st and April 5th. The first session (corresponding to Part I in the book) will be a discussion of two types of mental processing: fast and automatic, and slow and effortful. We will prepare a number of demonstrations for illustrative purposes. The second session will discuss applied topics comprising the remainder of the book. Focus will be on those of greatest interest to participants.
