| Description: | Speakers. Come and hear Anne Mahlum `02 speak about founding Back on My Feet. In 2007, SCSU alumnus Anne Mahlum founded Back on My Feet (BoMF) in Philadelphia, Pa. BoMF is a national nonprofit organization with chapters around the U.S. that is dedicated to creating independence and self-sufficiency within the homeless and other underserved populations. Mahlum has been recognized around the country for her efforts and has been honored as the ABC World News Person of the Week and CNN’s Top 10 Heroes of the Year in 2008. Mahlum also hosted MTV’s “The Break,” a documentary following less fortunate young people through their everyday daily lives, their struggles for food, shelter and the overwhelming obstacles holding them back. | ||||||
