The English Department publishes Upper Mississippi Harvest, an annual literary and art magazine, and Kaleidoscope, a multicultural literary arts magazine.

The Upper Mississippi Harvest

The Upper Mississippi Harvest Literary and Art Magazine is published yearly. The submission requirements are as follows.

We recommend the following guidelines. Failure to meet any of the guidelines may result in disqualification. We reserve the right to reject any submission. Writing entries will not be returned. Faculty members enrolled in classes are not eligible for publication.

Poetry: 1-5 pieces per person, typed — name, address, phone #, and title(s) of work(s) should be included on a separate cover page (only the title of the poem and the poem itself should appear on each piece submitted).

Short Fiction/Drama: 1-3 pieces per person — maximum 3,500 words per piece, typed and double spaced - Procedure for cover page should follow poetry guidelines.

Photography: 1-5 pieces per person — black and white only — name, address, title, etc. should be attached to each piece and not written on the back.

Art/Comics: 1-5 pieces per person - name, address, title, etc. should be attached to each piece and not written on the back - Selected artwork will be printed in black and white, so submit accordingly.

Art, comics and photos will be reproduced at 7" x 4.5"
