For the GRE requirement, all applicants are required to take the GRE general test. The Graduate School requires that all new graduate students meet the following academic standards:
- a GPA of 2.75 or higher for all previous college course work,
- a 480 score on the verbal section of the GRE.
And so, if you GPA is over 2.75, then you do not have a minimum requirement for the GRE, and so you should simply register for the exam and take it.
- Individuals with previous MA or MS or other Master’s degree or other graduate degrees can email the TESL Director to request a GRE waiver for the application process, and
- US nationals and permanent residents can receive a conditional admission to the TESL MA if they have registered and paid for the GRE and then emailed this information to the TESL Director. Their admission will be regularized once the GRE score has been received by the Graduate School.
