TESL MA online application procedures

Application procedures for the TESL MA follow the same general guidelines as the application procedures for the on-campus TESL program.

The first step is to email the TESL Direction, Jim Robinson, at jhrobinson@stcloudstate.edu and to express your interest in the program.

The second step will depend on whether you are a US national or permanent resident or if you are an international student.

  • US nationals and permanent residents would go to the following web site for application information: http://www.stcloudstate.edu/gradadmissions/us_admissions/.
  • International students would go to the following web site for similar information: http://www.stcloudstate.edu/gradadmissions/intl_admissions/. International students should note that they will need a TOEFL IBT of 79 or a PBT of 550 for admission to the program. International should note that if they intend to take all their courses online, they do not need to fulfill the visa requirements for an I-20 in order to take their courses.

Internationals students attending universities that have partnership agreements with St. Cloud State University should contact their home institutions to begin the application process.

US nationals and permanent residents of the US who would like to take online courses before they are officially admitted to the TESL MA program, can do so be getting an SCSU ID # as a non-degree student by filling out a form at the following web site: https://www5.stcloudstate.edu/registrar/students/specialstudent/Default.aspx.

For more information email the TESL Director, Jim Robinson at: jhrobinson@stcloudstate.edu.
