Course Description: Introduces non-English majors to in-depth study of rich literary traditions of Great Britain, the United States, and/or other nations or cultures; including at least two genres and historical periods. Does not count toward the English major or minor. 3 Cr. F, S.
Course Objectives:
1. To familiarize you with traditional criteria for literary greatness.
2. To familiarize you with some major works of literary culture in English.
3. To enhance your reading skills: reading effectiveness and critical reading.
4. To enhance your critical thinking skills.
5. To enlarge your appreciation of values.
6. To enlarge your appreciation of cultural difference interrelation.
