Summer ESL Camp - Mentor Groups and Building Relationships
These Summer ESL Camps have focused on learning the English language through relationships: the relationship between the ESL teacher and the student, the relationship between the mentor and the student and the relationship between the host family and the student.
- Former students have come back to Central Minnesota to visit their host families; host families have visited students in their home countries
- Some students have returned to St. Cloud State University as undergraduates
- Others have pursued English language studies and study abroad opportunities through universities in their home country
- Mentors and ESL teachers have visited these former students in their home countries
- Some mentors and ESL teachers have also become EFL teachers in the other countries
- And of course, emails and letters have been exchanged too.
