St. Cloud State University
St. Cloud State University's campus community is comprised of 15,500 students and 1,300 faculty and staff who represent cultures of 84 different countries and every part of America, an exciting, diverse blend of individuals who've come together to share our 135-year tradition of excellence and opportunity. Our roots are in the education of Minnesota teachers, but we've evolved into a regional, comprehensive university, the flagship of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System offering 175 undergraduate and graduate programs of study in a wide array of fields.
SCSU's sprawling campus is located on the oak-crowned banks of the Mississippi River in the fast-growing metropolitan area of St. Cloud and just 70 miles northwest of the beautiful and culturally rich Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Renowned for our colleges of education and business, SCSU also has popular programs in such diverse fields as criminal justice and electrical engineering, business computer information systems and nursing. Most programs have exceeded the criteria for national accreditation and professional acclaim. Classes are taught by professors who mentor as well as instruct, and who impart a lifelong love of learning as well as practical knowledge and career preparation. Seventy-nine percent have attained the highest academic level for their field, and more than 40 percent have international teaching experience.
SCSU is a dynamic environment that values global education, civic engagement and critical thinking. Student life is enriched by 200 campus organizations, a full component of men's and women's athletics - including the Division I men's hockey team - and a wide array of cultural and educational opportunities. Living, working and learning at Minnesota's second largest university is an exhilarating, relevant and rewarding experience.
