Graduate Student Advisement and Propose ProgramSheets

Each student is assigned an advisor upon acceptance into the graduate programs in the Community Psychology Department. Students may change their advisor if desired, however a Change of Advisor Form needs to be completed and submitted to the Dean of Graduate Studies.

Each student must complete a Proposed Program of Graduate Study form is submitted to the Department Chair and Dean of Graduate Studies. Graduate students are encouraged to complete their Program Forms during the second semester of their program.

Thesis versus Non-Thesis Option (Plan A or Plan B)

For Graduate students who plan on completing a thesis, students enroll in CPSY 699 Thesis for 6 credits. Thesis projects must be submitted to the SCSU Institutional Review Board (IRB) located in the Office of Sponsored Programs.

 

For graduate students who elect the Non-thesis Option, Plan B, additional coursework is required and students must pass a Comprehensive Examination in behavior analysis. Comprehensive Examinations are scheduled during the end of the Spring Semester and students must notify the Graduate Coordinator regarding their intent to take the Comprehensive Examination.
