How do I apply to the B.S. in Community Psychology Major?

All students who are interested in applying to the Community Psychology Major must complete the Application for Major form, available from the Department Office.  Students indicate courses taken for General Education, Major in Community Psychology, a Minor (if selected), and University Electives.  A total of 120 semester credits are required to graduate with a B.S. in Community Psychology, with a total of 45 or more semester credits taken at the 300-400 level.

How do I apply for the B.S. in Chemical Dependency Major?

Students who are interested in the B.S. in Chemical Dependency must make an application to Barbara Vesely, Ph.D. Chemical Dependency Coordinator.  Application materials are available from the Department Office, and the following materials are required.  You must have your internship site approved by your Chemical Dependency Program advisor.

  • Application for Major Form is available from the Department Office.
  • A personal letter of application, including statements relating to your personal and educational goals, along with a brief review of your history, and your reasons for pursing chemical dependency counseling as your career goal.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • If you have a chemical or alcohol dependency, written verification of abstinence date.
  • Completion of Chemical Dependence application forms (Personal History).

How do I apply for a Minor in Community Psychology?

Students who are interested in a Minor in Community Psychology must make an application to their Major and have the Major Advisor sign the Application for Major Form (available from the department the student is majoring in).  After the student's major advisor has signed the form, a Community Psychology faculty member will sign the form as the minor advisor.
