Biography
Niloufer Merchant has been at St. Cloud State University since 1991, and is Professor & Department Chair of Educational Leadership & Community Psychology. In 1999-2000 she served as the Interim Cultural Diversity Co-Coordinator for St. Cloud School District 742, and in 2002-2003 was the Interim Director for the Women’s Center at SCSU. Niloufer has been active in the community and school district in addressing the issues of cultural diversity. She also provides in-services and trainings in the area of cultural competence. Niloufer is an active member of the American Counseling Association, and the Association for Specialists in Group Work and has served on several committees and projects over the years. She also served as the Board President for the Multicultural Center of Central Minnesota from 2005-2007.
