Biography

I have been in education in urban and rural settings for over 30 years in multiple roles as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, principal of an alternative school for emotionally disturbed students, director of special education, and executive director of an education district.  Elected as president of the Minnesota Administrator of Special Education (MASE) for two years, I have served on multiple board and committee positions within the organization.  As a consultant, I have presented internationally and nationally and work with individual school districts in MN in my research interest areas.  Honored by my colleagues, I was selected as MN Director of the Year for 2002, and Administrator of Excellence by the MN Association of School Administrators.  At SCSU, I have been an associate professor of EDAD for nine years.
