SCSU's exchange with Woosong University in South Korea provides for a semester or a full year in Jeonju.
With 1.4 million people, the city of Daejeon is the fifth largest city in Korea, and it is growing into an important transport hub of communication, technology and education. Only two hours south of Seoul, Daejeon offers a less crowded yet still diverse area of neighborhoods. Since Expo' 93, which featured some of the most memorable technological displays seen at any world's fair, Daejeon has been promoted as the science and technology capital of Korea. A perfect place to explore Korean culture and history, Daejeon represents a union of historical presence, technological advance and cultural awareness.
Woosong offers a Master’s level Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages Multimedia Assisted Language Learners (TESOL-MALL) program. Further they offer a Korean Language Program for undergraduate students. For these students Korean language courses would be taken for a total of 20 hours per week.
Exchange students will stay in university owned and operated residence halls.
The student must have completed at least one year of continuous study at SCSU and must be a sophomore with a 2.5 GPA. An interview will be required for placement.
