The Department of Teacher Development is proud to offer the following scholarship opportunities to students as they pursue their educational degree.

  • Scholarships are a way to help students pay for their education.
  • Unlike student loans, scholarships do not have to be repaid.

RARE Educational Scholarship-Robbinsdale Association of Retired Teachers The dollar amount of the scholarship(s) given each year will depend upon the yearly donations of retired educators. In 2013, over $8000 was collected and ten scholarships were awarded. 5/5/2014

Scholarship: RARE Educational Scholarship-Robbinsdale Association of Retired Teachers

Description: To be eligible students should fit into at least one of the following categories: An individual who has already completed at least two years of college by September 2014 with plans to become a teacher. An individual who wishes to make a career change within education. A teacher wishing to change teaching fields. Applicant must have a connection with Independent School District 281. Preferably: an ISD 281 graduate, present ISD 281 teacher, or current resident.

Apply to: A completed application includes: A short biographical essay including education and occupation experiences. Transcript of credits. Planned program of study. One paragraph statement describing financial needs. Any additional information deemed important to your situation.   2. Download and complete the School of Education Scholarship Applications (2 parts)
    NOTE: You are required to complete a separate application for each scholarship.
  3. Make sure that your application is complete and sumbitted by the posted deadline.
