Richard Freeman
Richard Freeman, Professor of Economics at Harvard University and Director of the Labor Studies Program at the National Bureau of Economic Research
Dr. Freeman is an internationally acclaimed labor economist who has published in a wide range of areas including the growth and decline of unions; self-organizing non-unions in the labor market; restructuring European welfare states; international labor standards; transitional economies; Chinese labor markets; crime; employee involvement programs; income distribution and equity in the marketplace; the effects of immigration on trade and inequality; and the job market for scientists and engineers. At this year's Winter Institute, Dr. Freeman will speak about the effects of immigration on the receiving economy.

Barry R. Chiswick, UIC Distinguished Professor, Research Professor and Head of the Department of Economics at University of Illinois-Chicago.
Dr. Chiswick has an international reputation for his research in Labor Economics, Human Resources, the Economics of Immigration, the Economics of Minorities, the Economics of Religion and Income Distribution. He is recognized as having done the seminal research on the Economics of Immigration and continues to be a leader in the field. At this year's Winter Institute, Dr. Chiswick will speak about immigrant skills.
