This year's competition drew five entries, the two teams from SCSU and three teams from the University of Minnesota. Contestants were evaluated on both the written and oral presentation of their papers. The competition was judged by engineers from local industry.
Two SCSU students were also recognized at the awards banquet. SCSU EE senior Mizanur Chowdhury received an Outstanding Student Award. This award recognizes student branch members of the twin cities section who have made outstanding contributions to their respective student branches. SCSU EE senior Mark Olson was also recognized for being the Region 4 Student Representative from 2000-2002. The participation of the two SCSU student teams was overseen by Dr. Glazos, who is the Faculty Advisor to the SCSU IEEE Student Branch.
