SWE Horizons Conference
The HORIZONS Conference organized by the Society of Women Engineers at St. Cloud State University is an all-day event held at St. Cloud State University for young women in grades seven and eight. Various departments from fields such as Electrical, Computer, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Physics and Chemistry put on workshops for the students to participate in. The intention of the workshops is to increase awareness of the various fields of science and technology and show the young women that science can be fun and interesting.
Conference Goals:
To reinforce young women's interest in the disciplines of science and mathematics.
To create an awareness of career opportunities for women in science-related fields.
To provide an opportunity for students to meet and form personal contacts with women working in traditionally male occupations.
