Meeting Minutes
October 31, 2006
Attending: Dr. Deng, Dr. Thamvichai, Dr. Petzold
1. General Education: The committee agreed to invite the chair or someone else from the Gen Ed committee to discuss the new General Education curriculum in relationship to our new curriculum.
2. Next week I will give a report on the ABET Commission Summit I attended in Tampa, FL. It will be held in ECC 126 on Tuesday at 1:00 pm.
3. Discussed programming skills of Comp. E. students. Xidong will assess Comp. E. students in ECE 421, 423, and compare with students in her CSCI 413 course.
a. The proposal to move CSCI courses earlier in the curriculum may help.
b. In ECE, we need to be more rigorous in teaching programming.
4. ECE 102 is becoming an issue for MME. We may need to create a new course for them to meet their needs.
