Accreditation Committee Meeting Minutes
September 6th, 2006, 3:00 PM
Attending: Sura, Kay, Xidong, Mark
- Meeting time may change, based on Xidong’s lab schedule.
- Preparation for ABET visit
- ABET Visit, Sept. 24 – 26, Sunday through Tuesday. Monday, 25th, 11:30 – 1:30 Luncheon. All faculty members will attend
- Sura’s class (ECE 322) will be moved up to ECC 216 and it will be used for class visit from ABET visitors
- All faculty members should read and review our self-study report before a visit
- Find demo/projects with lab report that implemented by computer engineering students
- The room ECC 126 and ECC 123 will be used for ABET visit – Action item: Sura
- Meet with Sarnath (Computer Science) about this coming ABET visit
- The coursework needs to be reorganized by outcomes. We also need to flag some CompE students’ homework– Action item: all
2. Ongoing assessment
- Prerequisite exams (Mark will remind faculty)
- Jr. Level Final project – Action item: Tim and Kay
- Internship survey (Mark will write report after visiting companies that our students worked during summer)
- Student Advisory Council. – Action item: Kay
3. Upcoming issues
- Prepare to respond to various issues after the visit is finished
- Prepare the self-study report for EE program by using this self-study report as a basis
- Curriculum committee needs to use collected data to improve both our EE and CompE program
