and universities, and, if appropriate, host a Central Minnesota Summit and
Conference on Hate Crime.
Assignment: Academic Affairs
Actions taken to date: Persons, including representatives from St. Ben's/St. John's and from St. Cloud Technical College, have been invited to serve on a committee which will develop a program for the summit.
The Vice President of Academic Affairs and Human Resources coordinated a presentation to the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce regarding the SCSU Program to Combat Racism and Racial Harassment and to Enhance Cultural Diversity. This resulted in a supportive resolution which was passed by the Chamber's Board of Director's in late November, 1997.
A regional higher education conference on racism and hate crimes, sponsored by SCSU, SCTC, St. Ben's and St. John's, is scheduled for April 22-23.

which create a greater understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity
and inclusiveness in campus life. Programs sponsored by students and faculty
will be supported with the goal of making cultural activities a part of the
campus tradition of excellence and opportunity.

Actions taken to date: Discussions with the Cultural Diversity Committee, Faculty of Color Caucus, and Minority Student Programs have been scheduled.
