Summer Program

June 24th - July 27, 2012

The SCSU Summer Program provides students the opportunity to enter into a learning community called the Journey Community. As a member of this community, you will take courses along with a special group of students who have agreed to start college early, serve the St. Cloud and SCSU community and work together to ensure a successful beginning to your collective college careers. Students in the Journey Community will share class time, meals and even a living space for their first college career. Download the brochure and registration form (pdf).

In addition to the traditional classroom activities, students engage in purposeful outdoor activities that complement their academic coursework. Through the course of the week, students learn a variety of outdoor skills, minimum impact strategies, natural & cultural history that enhance their three night canoeing camping trip on the St. Croix N ational Scenic R iverway. Students bring their outdoor experience back to the classroom to enhance their success in this innovative program.
