  • COLL 150: Discovering the College Experience (2 Credits)
  • COLL 110: Reading/Study Strategies (2 credits)

The COLL 150 (2 cr.) and COLL 110 (2 cr.) course credits apply for a total of four SCSU elective credits.

 

When do I take these courses?

Students should take these two courses preferably during their first semester at college.

 

DGS First Year Experience (FYE) Option:

The First Year Experience program—commonly known as “FYE”— offers a variety of Learning Communities designed to support DGS students in making vital connections and a successful transition to university life.

SCSU General Education Courses

  • Students need to take SCSU general education courses in addition to COLL 150 and COLL 110. COLL 150 and COLL 110 are electives, not general education courses.
  • Students will receive the General Education Program Checklist during New Student Advising and Registration Days. Students will register for SCSU courses at Advising and Registration Days.
  • DGS students are responsible for registering for second semester courses. To start the registration process, first meet with your SCSU advisor.
