Husky Net
HuskyNet, short for Husky Network, is your organization's access to technology resources at SCSU. Through the use of an organizational HuskyNetID, your club can send/receive e-mail, and maintain a file and/or Web space. This account remains active as long as it is renewed, even as officers and club members come and go. It gives you a single contact point for both members and potential members. The e-mail account doesn't have the limitations of some free e-mail accounts. Your website does not have annoying pop-up ads like many of the freehosting websites.
To activate your organizational HuskyNetID, complete a Userid Request form (available from the HelpDesk in MC B43 or Miller Center Second floor East Lab) as shown on page 69. You will also need a memo from your faculty advisor. Return the completed form to the CTUS office in MC 204 or to the place where you picked up the form. Use the spot below to record your ID, password, and e-mail information and keep this with your club's records.

HuskyNet Features

Campus Desktop: Campus Desktop allows your designated officer(s) to move from computer to computer while using the same customized environment from any campus computer through a simple login system using your club's HuskyNetID and password. They have access to personal desktop settings, personal application and operating system settings, access to the Outlook e-mail program, and automatic access to personal HuskyNet file space, web space, and course related network storage.
HuskyNet File Space: Student organizations receive file space when they activate their HuskyNetID. File space is accessible from both on and off campus through a variety of methods. You have access to a total of 100MB of combined file and Web space.
HuskyNet Web Space: Student organizations are given the opportunity to publish a Web site. Web space must be activated separately after HuskyNetID activation. It is accessible from both on and off campus. Your web address will be of the form: http://studentorg.stcloudstate.edu/your_org/
HuskyPrint: SCSU uses a printing system called HuskyPrint. The printing system is available in all open campus labs and a number of other campus technology locations. Color and BW printing and transparency printing are available.
Student organizations are required by law to have a public performance license to show any movies on campus. This legal requirement applies regardless of whether an admission fee is charged, whether the institution or organization is commercial or nonprofit, or whether a federal or state agency is involved. To obtain a movie and license, please contact CSOLD to receive the name of agencies and contacts. Fees are determined by such factors as the number of times a particular movie is going to be shown, how large the audience will be, and so forth. Most licensing fees are based on a particular performance or set of performances for specified films.
