Welcome to the Fraternity & Sorority Learning Community at St Cloud State University. SCSU hosts 5 men's fraternities and 4 women's sororities, which makes it the largest organization on campus. The Fraternity/Sorority experience fosters life-long relationships among its members while staying connected to campus and the community of St. Cloud long after your graduation. These life-long impactive relationships are developed through a learning community experience of working together towards academic success, philanthropy, volunteerism, social connections, leadership development, and character building framework. SCSU Administration and alumni acknowledge the value of the Fraternity & Soroirty experience to enhance your collegelife as a student who desires to live to a higher standard as a college student. Fraternities & Sororities are Values based organizations who strive daily to live by their organizations values as stated in their founding creeds and misssions. There are many opportunities on campus to gain information on membership in a Fraternity or Sorority at SCSU.. Students who are interested can contact the Fraternity & Sorority Community office at 308-3179, AMC 133 or the CSOLD office at 308-3004, AMC 139. Potential members can also gather information by attending Mainstreet (fall) or Sidestreet (spring), which are the two organizational fairs hosted by the CSOLD office. Recruitment & Membership Exploration is the social experience in which a mutual selection occurs to determine membership. If their is a specific chapter that is of interest, students can go to the complete list of fraternities and sororities below. . We encourage you to investigate what a true Fraternity/Sorority Experience is and how it can accentuate your college experience at SCSU!

Fraternity raises $3,000 in Relay for Life ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) chapter at St. Cloud State University earned first place for the 2008 SCSU Relay for Life, raising over $3,000.  St. Cloud State’s Fifth Annual Relay for Life took place Friday-Saturday, March 14-15, to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society.  Relay

 

Fraternity/sorority student leaders win national prize ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The fraternity/sorority learning community of St. Cloud State University took a first place at the Mid-American Greek Council Association annual meeting Feb. 23 in Chicago.

The Huskies earned their WCHA Final Five berth by sweeping the University of Wisconsin at the National Hockey Center. View a 27-photo slide show from the March 14 and March 15 action. Singing the Star Spangled Banner before the games were junior Stephanie Farah (Delta Zeta) , an anthropology major from McGregor, and sophomore Bryan T. Phi Kappa Tau members Josh Arneson, Brianna Erickson, Anton Reichl and Amie Youngdahl helped their fraternity raise $2,500 for chronically and terminally ill children. The students stayed outdoors on the university mall from 9 a.m. Feb. 11 to 1 p.m. Feb. 15. sctimes.com

The Student Research Colloquium (SRC) brings together students, faculty and members of the community involved in scholarly and artistic activities representing a range of disciplines, including Creative Arts, Mathematics, Business, Social Science, Humanities, Physical and Life Sciences, and Engineering, among others. Additional goals involve promoting research, scholarship, and creative activity done together with faculty as a vital component of higher education. The SCSU Fraternity & Sorority Community provides the staffing and logistics for this annual event. Intended to engage Fraternity & Sorority members in faculty relationships, student research inquiry, and giving back to SCSU!

NEW Student Research Fund! The Office of Sponsored Programs is pleased to announce the availability of funds to support academic research and creative activity carried out by undergraduate and graduate students under the direction of a faculty member. Plan for SRC 2008! April 22nd, 2008

  • Abstract submission deadline: March 5, 2008 (since March 1 falls on a Saturday)

Among the 350 students presenting at our Student Research Colloquium was students affiliated with Force10 Networks, a Silicon Valley company with a St. Cloud State pedigree. Joel Goergen ’86, who earned degrees in mathematics and electrical engineering and is the holder of 13 patents, is vice-president of technology and chief scientist for the San Jose, Calif. firm. Force 10 provides high-performance networking systems. Electrical engineering majors Nick Stein, Eric Voegele and Ryan Doheny were part of the St. Cloud Times story about the colloquium. sctimes.com
