“Everyone tries to define this thing called Character. It's not hard. Character is doing what's right when nobody's looking.”

Purpose

The purpose of the SCSU Greek Week is to provide the SCSU Fraternity & Sorority Community and the University community a week of fun, spirit, and unity. The week should be as reflective as possible of all areas of Fraternities & Sororities such as philanthropy, education, fundraising, public relations, brotherhood/sisterhood, and should create a positive campus and community awareness of fraternal organizations. The week should emphasize the Four components of our Community : (1) Academic Success; (2) Service and Philanthropy; (3) Leadership Development and  (4) Values Development

Announcements: Tuesday - There are no kiosks in atwood for Penny Wars - if your house needs their bucket from last year for pennies, let me know (they're in the greek office) - at the close of penny wars, houses should bring their pennies to the CSOLD office - Lip Sync will be held on atwood mall like it has been for the last few years (there was a rumor we didn't reserve it, but that's not true!)   Shanae Phillips phsh0401@stcloudstate.edu 320-493-3424

Announcements Tuesday :  - Regarding capture the flag, there is some additional information:   1.  There will be a total of 9 (not 11) flags for each game - this means 9 for the fraternities and 9 for the sororities 2.  Guys will serve as refs for the girl teams and vice a versa - OX does not need to supply a ref and D Phi E must supply 2 refs  3.  At least one person from each house must have a watch, cell phone, or stopwatch of some sort 4.  Everyone should try to stay off campus from 10 - 10:45pm tonight 5.  In case of a tie at the end of the game, there will NOT be tie-breaker questions.  I will simply assign places as usual (meaning if TKE and OX tied for first place, each house would still be assigned 6 points).    Any questions, please contact me!      Shanae Phillips phsh0401@stcloudstate.edu 320-493-3424

Announcements Wednesday :.Trivia bowl is held today at 3pm in the Quarry.  Expect a similar lay-out/format as last year.    Human foosball is at 8pm in the fieldhouse.  Please email any questions about this even to Travis Gause as he is the person in charge of it - I WILL NOT BE ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT It  Shanae Phillips phsh0401@stcloudstate.edu 320-493-3424 * Greek Week t-shirts are here!  If you were on the first order (PKT, KPO, DPE, TKE, PEA) then you can contact me to pick them up.  I will be at trivia and foosball today so you can talk to me then as well.

Announcements Thursday: Food Drive Remember, food drive closes at 10pm tonight (Thursday).  Deliver all food to OX house.

t-shirts will be here shortly.  The orders for the houses are as follows:  PKT - ordered 8shirts = owes $64   DZ - ordered 12shirts = owes $8 (Lexi, there was only money for 11shirts in the envelope, so GPB covered the  missing one)   Acacia - ordered 4shirts = owes $0   Kappa - ordered 9shirts = owes $72   I also kept the order forms for each of the above houses, so if you would like to track down the individual members who ordered t-shirts and get the money from them, that's fine.  Otherwise, if your house can afford to, you may want to just transfer the money from your 900 accounts to GPB's and then your members will just owe your particular house.  Please let me know what you would like to do.  Remember, GPB covered the difference of all the t-shirts, so it is vital that we get reimbursed asap.  I went ahead and ordered shirts w/o money because I thought it would save some headache in the future and deter Greeks from complaining about wanting a t-shirt and not receiving one (you all know it would happen).     In addition, I ordered extra t-shirts for those houses who never gave me an order...ever...and for members who missed the last 2 orders completely.  I reasoned the same thing would happen with people wanting a shirt and not knowing they were actually supposed to order one.  The following shirts were ordered in surplus:   10 medium 5 large 2 xl    Two of the mediums are already reserved, otherwise, the rest are up for grabs.     The possibility of another order is extremely unlikely.  In all honesty, I shouldn't have had to place a second order in the first place.  In the future, houses may be asked to give GPB the money up front in order to eliminate the hassle of tracking down individual people who owe money.    If you have any questions, please let me know.  Thanks for reading this long email!      P.S.  Penny Wars money and its allocation to the winning houses is still being worked out.  Ginter and Jennie, I will be contacting you shortly regarding this.    Shanae Phillips phsh0401@stcloudstate.edu 320-493-3424
