Internship Requirements
- Complete pre & post competency survey
- Create an “experience” portfolio
- Write a one page reflective paper on each assignment
- Hold a “leadership” role with in the program
- Participate in the personnel and programmatic evaluation process at the completion of each semester

All Interns will be trained on how each program was developed and is implemented; however, each Intern will be assigned specific programs/projects to work on with a graduate assistant as their direct supervisor. The specifics of which programs the Interns will work on (job description), how they will specifically work toward accomplishing the general learning outcomes and additional learning outcomes and academic requirements will be determined with the input of the Intern and the Intern’s academic department once the Internship has been approved for academic credit.
Anticipated Outcomes Include:
Improving the student experience on campus
Interns gaining skills needed to implement successful campus initiatives,
Increased understanding of and realization of how one can live the Social Change Model,
An increase in the number of diverse students who participate in Husky Leadership Programs and the Volunteer Connection programs
Increase civic engagement amongst young adults

Ability to utilize basic technology to update webpage information, draft marketing material and correspond with potential program participants.
Actively market and recruit developmental programs to diverse populations.
Assist in developing a brand image for the Husky Leadership Programs and the Volunteer Connection to increase awareness of and engagement in programs.
Interculturalism/Diversity
Develop working relationships with potential participants and other SCSU representatives from diverse backgrounds.
Incorporate multiculturalism into his/her activities as an Intern.
Engage in dialogues with others.
Consultation Skills
Planning and Projection
Demonstrate an ability to interpret and apply university and CSOLD policies to the management of his/her intern assignment.
Establish short range and long-range goals for self.
For the programs s/he is responsible for, the Intern will establish short range and long-range goals.
Demonstrate an ability to plan programs, to coordinate programs and to provide an evaluation of programs
