CSD SCHOLARSHIPS at St. Cloud State University

We are pleased to be able to offer our undergraduate and graduate students in CSD, the opportunity to apply for several scholarships within our department.  The CSD faculty extend their sincere thanks for making these monies available to our students.  If you wish to establish a scholarship or contribute to any of the already established scholarships, please contact Monica Devers, Dept Chair at mcdevers@stcloudstate.edu or Kim Hiltner in the Foundation Office at 320-308-4826.

The following scholarships have been established by a number of people associated in one way or another with our department.  Specific information is listed below.


MOSTOLLER FAMILY COMMUNICATION DISORDERS SCHOLARSHIP

The Mostoller Family scholarship was established by the three Mostoller sisters, all of whom attended SCSU and earned master’s degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Two scholarships are awarded each year to graduate students who are committed to academic excellence and demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to minority, non-traditional students who are good scholars.

MARY WEISE CLINICAL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

The Mary Weise Clinical Excellence scholarship was established upon the retirement of Mary Weise, CSD Clinic Director, who was renowned for her excellent clinical skills. Mary was the Clinic Director at SCSU from 1971-2001.  One scholarship is awarded per year to an outstanding second-year graduate clinician. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of faculty nominations.

CSD DEPARTMENTAL SCHOLARSHIP

The CSD Departmental scholarship was established and endowed by the CSD faculty and friends of the department to recognize students with excellent academic and clinical skills. One or two scholarships are awarded each year to graduate students.

EUGENE THEISEN MEMORIAL WESTSIDE SERTOMA SCHOLARSHIP

The Eugene Theisen Memorial Westside Sertoma scholarship was established by the St. Cloud Westside Sertoma Club in honor of one of its founding members who dedicated his life to community service. One scholarship is awarded per year to an undergraduate or graduate student. The student must have a GPA of 3.0, must be a member of the SCSU Chapter of NSSLHA, and demonstrate financial need.

BRIAN PETERSON SCHOLARSHIP

The Brian Peterson Scholarship was established in 2006.  Brian graduated with his Master’s degree in CSD in 2004.  One scholarship is awarded each year to a second year graduate student.  The student must be a member of NSSLHA and MSHA.
