PSEL 680: Understanding and Utilizing Public Safety Research
This course will overview quantitative data, statistical analysis and the critical thinking process. It will also identify quantitative public data and research sources. The course also will review the scientific method and outline ethical considerations in the design, implementation, collection, and interpretation of quantitative data in applying public safety research. This course will also identify and provide an introduction into effective questionnaire construction and survey research design. This course will focus on critical reading, critical thinking, public self-presentation skills, and policy analysis. This course will also provide an introduction to management information systems in public safety.
