PSEL 660: Human Resources Management
This course incorporates principles and concepts of human resource forecasting, planning and alternative staffing strategies within the organization. It addresses staffing needs under common organizational conditions such as mergers, downsizing and acquisitions. Selected topics include job analysis, recruiting methods, special needs of diversity in recruitment and training, selection techniques, training needs, termination procedures, ethical and legal implications of staffing policies. This course focuses on personnel appraisal and career path development. It is designed for students interested in human resource management with a general focus. The extent of this course will also address the employer, employee relationship in union and non-union settings which incorporates personnel negotiation and adapts leadership styles and qualities.
