Group counseling can be a great choice for individuals who want to improve themselves in respect to interpersonal relationships, assertiveness, mood or emotions, and many other areas. Groups are facilitated by one or two counselors and usually consist of about 5-8 students with similar concerns who meet regularly during a semester and use the time to learn from one another’s experiences, receive and provide feedback and support, practice skills, and gain confidence in themselves.
Groups are free to SCSU undergraduate and graduate students, and students may participate in group counseling whether or not they are also receiving individual counseling.
