Students
A Non-Traditional Student is defined as an undergraduate who is one of the following:
- 25 years or older,
- a parent, married,
- a veteran,
- a refugee or person with immigrant status,
- or someone who is returning to school after a few years break.

Mission
We are committed to the intellectual development and academic success of nontraditional students through the combination of classroom learning, technology education, and supportive faculty advising and student mentoring partnerships. It is the goal of this office to facilitate the integration of nontraditional students into the fabric of SCSU.
Campus Resources for Non-traditional Students
Campus Recreation Programs: Participate in athletic, fitness and recreational activities with flexible hours to serve the Nontraditional Student's busy life.
Lindgren Child Care Center: Child care center for the children of students, staff and faculty.
The Write Place: Offers individual writing assistance to undergraduate and graduate students including PowerPoint and research papers.
Atwood Memorial Center (Student Union): The University's meeting place and community center serves Nontraditional Students with services such as $3.00/term lockers, ticket information for campus events, bowling and much more.
Short-term laptop checkout: Need to use a computer? The Circulation Desk on Miller Center 1st Floor has a fleet of laptops available for 4-hour checkout with your SCSU Campus Card or with enough notice (typically at least 2 weeks).
Women’s Center: Serves women and responds to women's issues.
