January 28:  U-CHOOSE
U-Choose is an interactive presentation that helps students make informed choices about alcohol use. It is based on the foundation that students want to achieve success academically, personally, and professionally. The U-Choose presenters will help students understand how high risk drinking can lead to negative consequences.

February 4: Improving Study Skills
Information on study skill topics to help you learn more effectively and efficiently and earn better grades.

February 11: Mental Health Benefits of Exercise
Learn about the mental health benefits of exercise, how to improve your enjoyment and commitment to exercise as well as address barriers to participating in a physical activity routine.

February 18: Issues for Men
Men have issues?  Indeed, they do, not the least of which is the fact that we often don’t pay attention to them.  This discussion will look at the strains posed by living up – or failing to live up – to the expectations and roles of being a man.

February 25: How Do I Look?  Beauty in America
This presentation will address perceptions of beauty projected by the media of America in advertisements.  Participants are encouraged to bring along a magazine to be used during a group activity after viewing the video. This outreach presentation is an effort to educate college students about body image and its negative impact upon self perception, identity and feelings of self worth. 

March 10: Dealing with Math Anxiety
Do you have an hour to spare?  Taking one hour to look at better ways of coping with anxiety related to taking math tests could be an investment with big payoffs.

March 17: Time Management
Do you find there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done?  This presentation will help you find out where your time goes.  Then it will teach you some strategies for prioritizing commitments so you can find time for the important things in your life, including time for yourself.

March 24: Where’s my Motivation?
Many students encounter problems with academic motivation.  This discussion will aim to help students understand how people are motivated and what might be missing from their motivation toward school.

March 31: Emerging Adulthood
In the U.S., the period of time between ages 18 and 25 is viewed as a distinct developmental period known as Emerging Adulthood and is marked by profound changes, struggles, freedoms, questions, etc.  The purpose of this talk is to help you understand yourself and/or your loved ones as you live through these turbulent and exciting times.

April 7: Suicide Prevention
This presentation will address warning signs and symptoms of people who may be thinking of suicide.  Come and get information on what you can do to help a friend or loved one.

April 14: Deciding Your Major
Are you having trouble deciding on a major?  You have some ideas about possibilities, but just aren’t sure what to do?  Come and find out some of the myths people believe which make it hard to decide on a major and some strategies for making the decision.

April 21: Relationships:  Breaking Up is Hard to Do
Relationship endings can be difficult, however healing and moving on is possible.  Discover new ways to cope when dealing with a loss.

April 28: Stress Management
How do you know when you are stressed and what can you do about your stress?  Learn to calm yourself down and enjoy school and your life more.  This informational program will focus on relaxation strategies.
