SCSU, Microbiologics plan food symposium for Sept. 22-24
Thursday, May 29, 2014
The third annual Food Microbiology Symposium will be Sept. 22-24 at St. Cloud State University. The event, produced in collaboration with Microbiologics, brings together the food safety industry's top opinion leaders, technology providers, regulatory agencies and students to discuss developments in food safety, technology, and testing, as well as changes in regulations.
The keynote speaker this fall will be Bart Weimer, a professor at the University of California-Davis and director of the 100K Foodborne Pathogen Genome Project – which seeks to create a public database of 100,000 foodborne pathogen genomes to help speed identification of bacteria responsible for outbreaks.
"Experiences in Food Safety" is the theme of this year's symposium. For more, visit www.stcloudstate.edu/cose/fms
