ISELF Grand Opening Celebration Invite
Please join St. Cloud State University President Earl Potter in celebration with the College of Science & Engineering and School of Health & Human Services for the grand opening of the $44.8 million Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Faciltiy (ISELF).
The game-changing $45 million science and engineering facility known as ISELF throws open its doors 10:30 a.m. Aug. 21.
The grand opening, which is part of Convocation 2013, includes a program, ribbon-cutting ceremony, refreshments and tours. The program will be at the courtyard on the southwest corner of the 100,000 square-foot building.
Known formally as the Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Facility, ISELF will serve mostly upper-level and graduate-level science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medical technology and radiology classes.
The building, which broke ground in October 2011, goes into service fall semester.
University officials said in 2012 that ISELF's function, collaboration, flexibility, scale and sustainability will transform how faculty work and students learn.
ISELF lab space will be temporarily allocated to interdisciplinary projects and teams of people, not permanently given to campus entities. “They’ll come. They’ll work. They’ll leave,” said David DeGroote, former dean of the College of Science and Engineering.
