Robert and Alice Wick Sciences Scholarship now taking applications

Applications are being accepted until March 31st for the Robert and Alice Wick Sciences Scholarship. Robert and Alice Wick served St. Cloud State University and the community of St. Cloud in an exemplary fashion for many years.

Robert Wick retired from St. Cloud State in 1978 after 30 years of service, including six years as President and seven years as the State University System’s first distinguished service professor. Robert Wick passed away in March 2006 at the age of 93. 

Alice Wick received her M.S. in Education from St. Cloud State University and taught on campus in business education.  Mrs. Wick was active in civic affairs and served as a member of the St. Cloud City Council.  She also was a member of the St. Cloud State University Foundation Board and was active in the League of Women Voters. Alice Wick passed away in 2012.


One scholarship will be awarded with a value of $1,000 for the 2014-15 academic year to a full time student at St. Cloud State University who:

1)    Has completed at least 24 credit hours at St. Cloud State University;

2)    Has met the requirements for acceptance into a major within the College of Science and Engineering;

3)    Has a GPA of at least 3.0 in their overall studies and

4)    Displays leadership qualities.

Applicants must submit a written personal statement explaining their interest and aspirations in an area of the sciences. This statement should be typed and one page in length.

Personal statements are due in the Dean’s Office (Wick Science Building # 145) Monday, March 31, 2014.
