The Senior to Sophomore (S2S) Program is St. Cloud State University's (SCSU) concurrent enrollment program. The program allows eligible high school students to enroll in SCSU introductory college courses in their high schools. Courses are facilitated on a day to day basis by the local high school teacher. The integrity of the university course content is maintained through direct involvement with a SCSU faculty member. The program is sponsored by the Center for Continuing Studies at SCSU and is an alternative to the on-campus Post-Secondary Enrollment Option Program (PSEO).
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system has set the eligibility requirements for system PSEO programs. To be eligible, high school juniors must rank in the top 33 percent and seniors in the top 50 percent of their graduating class. Some specific courses may require a higher admission standard; some courses have a prerequisite or require a placement test. To remain eligible for the program, S2S students must maintain a 2.0 GPA.
In order to participate in the Senior to Sophomore program students must first be “admitted” as St. Cloud State University students. Admission requires the completion of an online application. After completing this process, final determination of eligibility will be made with high school records that show students who are juniors are in the top one third of their class and seniors are in the top one half of their class.
After students have been admitted to St. Cloud State University and the Senior to Sophomore program, they must complete an online registration for the specific course(s) they are taking.

Prerequisites
A few Senior to Sophomore courses require completion of a prerequisite. Prerequisite are listed on this web site under Available Courses. Completion of prerequisites for a course must occur before a student can start that course, unless the student obtains permission from the department offering the course to waive the prerequisites. Failure to complete prerequisites can result in cancellation of registration for the course.
MATH 112, MATH 113 and STATS 193 require completion of a placement test. Placement tests are administered by a SCSU faculty member at each high school. Check with your MATH instructor or school counselor about scheduling.
Check with your S2S high school instructor about meeting the prerequisite for the other S2S courses that require them.
