Youth/Novice Crash Avoidance Course

Dates: Wednesday, Nov 23, 9am-1pm

Times: Registration begins 30 mins prior to class.

Ages: 15 -20

Cost: The fee is $150 and must be paid when registering, by calling 320-255-3123 with a credit card. Our office is open Mon-Fri, 8 am to 4 pm.

IMPORTANT:The fee is nonrefundable & nontransferable.

Requirements for Students

  • Valid permit or license: If driving with a permit, attendees are expected to have sufficient driving/behind the wheel experience to operate a motor vehicle independently.

This program is targeted at reducing the number, and severity of crashes involving young, inexperienced drivers. Traffic crashes are a leading cause of fatalities and serious injuries for inexperienced teen drivers, ages 15-17.  It will target some of the causal factors relating to serious injury and fatal crashes. The course will engage, coach and challenge young drivers with maneuvers that target:

  • Off road recovery
  • Collision avoidance
  • Hazard recognition
  • Inattentive driving
  • Seatbelt use
  • Effective and controlled braking
  • Reaction time limitations
  • Proper speed selection
  • Skid control in a controlled environment
