Institute For Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
Why ADR?
Although conflict is a natural part of life, unresolved conflict can be costly in many ways.
We all have been engaged in unresolved conflict and we have experienced the negative consequences. Organizations, corporations, neighborhoods and individuals with unresolved conflicts experience difficulties such as increased sick time, loss of productivity, lower morale, higher turnover, and dissatisfaction. The stress of conflict takes its toll on all of us. We sometimes get "stuck" in a dispute and spend a great deal of time in non-productive "fighting." Conflict itself is not a bad thing. We can learn from it; we can grow.
We all need help from time to time. Communities and individuals can benefit from ADR services which can help reduce the time, energy and stress related to conflicts, while increasing productive and collaborative relationships. We all want to live in peace.
The services available through the SCSU Institute for ADR are designed to address your specific workplace conflicts with trained, highly skilled mediators, coaches, and conflict specialists. For more information, contact the Institute for ADR at the Center for Continuing Studies (320) 308-3081.
