Welcome to the Institute for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) at St Cloud State University website! The Institute for ADR provides services and training in ADR to groups or individuals in the community involved in a conflict situation. Conflict, while a normal part of our lives, can be disruptive and stressful to address when it occurs in our workplace, school, church, community, neighborhood or home. Conflict, in itself, is not a bad thing nor does it reflect failure or deficiency. Conflict comes from basic human interaction.
The Institute's goal is to increase the accessibility of ADR to all areas such as non-profit agencies, city and county government, corporations, law enforcement, volunteer organizations, senior centers, etc. The Institute for ADR provides free or discounted services for those who are income eligible. No conflict is too small or large for Alternative Dispute Resolution.
FREE SERVICES: The Institute for ADR has received funding to provide free ADR services for income-eligible clients and non-profit organizations with a financial need. To find out more about our free services, please call (320) 308-4962.
ADR Services available through the Institute include:
- Facilitated Conversations
- Coaching
- Formal Mediation both Interest-Based and Transformative
- Peace Circles
- Facilitated Retreats
- Strategic Planning
- Workplace Dispute Resolution Program Development
- 2008/2009 Trainings and Workshops
Thought for the week...
A parting thought...
As a facilitator/mediator, you have joined the proud ranks of those people who work towards conflict resolution which is a very noble undertaking. Pat yourself on the back whenever you agree to do a facilitation mediation whether formally or informally. Parties in conflict can only benefit from your actions. In this world, we all spend too much time engaged in conflict and its many unproductive escalations. As a conflict resolution specialist, you are contributing to human movement in another direction. One way or another, we all want to live in peace.
Best wishes in your continued conflict resolution endeavors,
Theresia Fisher, Director
