Online Driver Education
Teacher Preparation Program

Driver Education Teacher Preparation is now available online!

St. Cloud State University is offering a series of online courses that will
provide you with the coursework needed to fulfill driver education licensure requirements.

SCSU’s Driver Education Teacher Preparation program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), and meets
the Minnesota Board of Teaching requirements.

Students in other states must check with their own state for specific licensure requirements.   

 

About the Program

  • This 13 credit program consists of five courses (four online and one an approved practicum).  Course content is based on licensure requirements Minnesota. 

 

  • Out of state students must check with their own state for specific course and licensure requirements. Contact information can be found at:  http://adtsea.iup.edu.

 

  • In addition to the online coursework, students will need to make arrangements to complete approved practicum activities in their own community with a licensed mentor.
  • Courses can be taken for undergraduate credit or for graduate credit.

 

  • Courses must be taken in sequence.  The entire 13 credit program can be completed in one or two semesters.  See the web site for specific scheduling information.

Traffic Safety Education Faculty

Professor Bradley J. Isberner teaches Traffic Safety Education at St. Cloud State University.  He has extensive experience in driver education classroom instruction and combines current theories of instruction with practical application.  Brad is a member of the Minnesota Drivers and Traffic Safety Education Association (MDTSEA) and the American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association (ADTSEA).

Costs

      3 credit course:  Undergraduate: $250.10 per undergraduate credit
Graduate: $343.25 per graduate credit

      1 credit course:  Undergraduate: $250.10 per undergraduate credit
Graduate: $343.25 per graduate credit
