Online Course Procedures
Congratulations! You’ve decided you want to develop a distance learning course offered through the Center for Continuing Studies—what do you do now?

Begin by discussing your ideas with your department chair and/or the entire department.

Determine how your course objectives will be met through the distance delivery, choice of technology, and delivery method (self paced, web page, online interactive).

If you decide to develop a self-paced, print-based course, review our suggestions for developing an effective self-paced course. Forward your materials to the Center for Continuing studies in electronic format (email or on disk) for distribution to students.

If you decide to use web page access, will you be adding to an existing personal page or creating a new page? For technical assistance, Continuing Studies or LR&TS can provide help. Review our suggestions for developing your course.
